FELIX ANNAN SURE OF KOTOKO WIN OVER WAFA.

Following their 1-1 draw against Bolga All Stars in Tamale, Kotoko will return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday with full force to seek victory on match day seven against West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) on Wednesday. 

Before last Sunday, Kotoko had won three straight matches. They left Kumasi for Tamale highly motivated to continue their winning spree but the terrible nature of the Tamale Utretch Academy Park and other unfavourable conditions ensured the drop of points for the second time in this season. 

Despite the pulsating draw, Coach Zdravko Logarusic and his players are strong and are staying positive. Today in Kumasi, they hope to beat WAFA who are eighth on the league table with eight points. WAFA showed brilliance to beat Tema Youth 2-1 at Sogakope on Sunday. They are coming Kumasi to battle Kotoko fiercely. 

Two seasons ago, WAFA held Kotoko to a goalless draw in Kumasi but the Porcupines showed perseverance to beat them 2-1 last season. It will be a keen contest but the chances of WAFA looks slim judging from Kotoko’s home strength this season. 

The Porcupines have beaten Liberty Professionals 2-1; Bechem United 1-0 and Elmina Sharks 1-0 all in Kumasi. They will not spare WAFA no matter the challenge. The recovery of the injured players will add value to the team and give Coach Zdravko more options. 

Goalkeeper Felix Annan will certainly be the center of attraction as he meets his former team. When Annan was loaned to WAFA in 2014/15, he led his side to share honours with Kotoko in Kumasi and later triumphed 1-0 at Sogakope. He returned to Kotoko and last season, Kotoko triumphed 2-1 in Kumasi. The in-form goalie who has conceded two goals in six league matches this season has promised good show in the midweek clash. 

“It is always a pleasure meeting my former team. I respect WAFA a lot because they have played a key role in my career but there will be no mercy or sympathy tomorrow in Kumasi. We mean business and we will work hard to beat WAFA” said Anna
